How long did it take you choose the name for your children? For us, name choosing has been quite important. We have always wanted names that have a Biblical background. And for the most part we have been able to keep to that.
We have 3 boys. They all have names that begin with the letter J. (you would not believe how often we get asked if we are trying to be like the Duggar family with their "J" names) They also have 2 middle names. Their middle names all have the same initials. Yes, we are that crazy! **laughs**
We chose names from the Bible for most of them.
#1 Jonathan Michael Gabriel
#2 Jordan Matthew Gideon
#3 Josef Micah Gerald
It was also important that the names flowed. I guess a better way to put it was that they sounded good with our last name. Since it is Slovak, it can be kind of hard to get a good rhythm going. Yenca is just, well, unique. It gets pronounced so many different ways. Especially by telemarketers. Ya'll know what I am talking about.
So we have Jonathan (David's friend in the Bible), Michael (Angel), Gabriel (Angel).
Jordan (Country), Matthew (Disciple), Gideon (Warrior/Hero)
Josef (Darren's dad's name and Bible Character) Micah (Bible Character) Gerald (my Grandfather - see the post about my Grandy here)
As you can see, we definitely chose mostly Biblical names for the boys. Will this trend continue when we have another child, specifically if that child is a boy? Hopefully. We like to keep things the same as much as possible.
I will admit that I do mix up my boys names. Luckily I haven't used the dog's or our daughter's name to call them. But do I mix them up, yes! But that's ok. They know it's crazy at our house! :)
